I'm Kimberly, a multimedia journalist from Meanjin/Brisbane.
I began my foray into journalism after a short stint in the healthcare sector where I found my passion for listening to people's stories and advocating for injustice and those misunderstood by society.
In 2022, I commenced a Bachelor of Journalism/Communications at The University of Queensland and have interned with The Courier Mail, 4ZZZ Community Radio Brisbane, ABC Local Radio Brisbane and most recently with SBS Dateline.
I mainly focus on telling human interest stories that challenge and discover people and communities who exist outside of the status quo.
In 2023 I was awarded the JERAA Ossie Award for Best Video (Short-form) by an Undergraduate or Postgraduate Student for my documentary on the story of Rev'd Selina McMahon, the only transgender person who is licensed to run an Anglican Church in Australia.
In 2023 I made a short documentary following the story of Selina McMahon, the only transgender priest who is licensed to run an Anglican church in Australia.
All interviews, video and editing were conducted by myself.

I am open to any opportunities and look forward to connecting with you!
